The process of becoming a US citizen is called the naturalization process.

Another piece of news I wanted to share is VAWA updates. VAWA – the violence against women act – is a self-petition both men and women can file when they are in an abusive relationship with a green card holder or US citizen. They can apply for VAWA and get a green card and then get US citizenship later.

So seems like they became stricter with VAWA petitions and I think it’s a good thing cause we don’t want anybody to overuse this.
