DV-2025 Program: Online Registration is Now Open


The online registration period for the DV-2025 Program begins on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 12:00 noon, EST and ends on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 12:00 noon, EST.  

Only 1 entry per person is allowed, but couples can submit 2, listing each other.

There is no fee to apply, but if you win – there is an immigrant visa to pay.

For DV-2025, natives of the following countries and areas are not eligible to apply: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, The People’s Republic of China (including mainland and Hong Kong born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea (South Korea), Venezuela, and Vietnam.

✔️ Natives of Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible.

✔️ U.K. and its dependent territories are now eligible to apply for DV-2025.

There are no other changes in eligibility from the previous fiscal year.

🔎 WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE DV-2025 PROGRAM?

Eligibility Requirement #1: Natives of countries with historically low rates of immigration to the U.S.

If you are not yourself, eligible for the DV-2025 Program, you could be eligible if:
▶️Your Spouse is a citizen of an eligible country. Claim your spouse’s place of birth and make sure to list them in your application. You will have to enter at the same time.  
▶️If your parents never lived in the country of which you are a citizen of and they ARE the citizen of the eligible country – you can claim your parents’ citizenship to be eligible.

Eligibility Requirement #2: Education must be at least a high school education with a diploma or equivalent like GED, OR 2 years of Work Experience in the past 5 years in a job that requires at least 2 years of training or experience to work in.

The U.S. Dept of State uses the O*Net Online database to see if you have qualifying work experience.

Do not wait until the last week of the registration period to apply as the most amount of people will be applying then and the website will be slow or down.

Each applicant must fully fill out the DV-2025 Program application form.

After submission, save the resulting screen with your name and unique confirmation number.

Starting  May 4, 2024, you will be able to check the status of your entry by returning to www.dvprogram.state.gov, clicking on Entrant Status Check, and entering your unique confirmation number and personal info to see if you won.

📢The U.S. government will NEVER email you or send you a letter that you worn or lost in the lottery.

Fill it out carefully. Make sure to list your name as is shown in your passport. Make sure to list all your unmarried kids under 21. List your spouse, unless you are legally separated (by court registration or order)
