Analyzing Kelly Clarkson’s Divorce: A Legal Perspective

Explore our analysis of Kelly Clarkson’s divorce journey back in 2021.

šŸŽ¤ Kelly Clarkson is the original American Idol winner and a successful entertainer. She is a winner of 3 Grammies and 3 Daytime Emmy awards. Her Net Worth is $45 Million. She is a smart, accomplished woman, loved across America. She is truly the American sweetheart.

Kelly has been busy making music, touring, having a TV show and doing so many projects since she was a teen. A hardworking self-made woman, who also, similar to me, has been fighting the battle to be healthy and fit.

šŸ‘©ā€ā¤ļøā€šŸ‘Ø She met Brendan Blackstock at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006 where Kelly was rehearsing for a duet with Rascal Flatts, and Brandon was there as the country groupā€™s tour manager. As a musical group manager, he knew a talent and a deep pocket when he met Kelly, who in my opinion (and in fact) had major daddy issues and was vulnerable.

It took a few years for their relationship to move beyond the friend zone ā€” it wasnā€™t until a meeting at the Super Bowl six years later that the relationship really took off. She fell for Brandon and was so happy to become a step mom to their blended family. I remember hearing interviews with her where she raved on about that. They married quickly, remaining so for 7 years.

ā¤ļø Like the rockstar that she is, Kelly asked Brandon to sign a Prenuptial Agreement, and he did. They were married 2013 to 2020. Then, Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from her manager husband after 7 years of marriage and 2 kids together. In Los Angeles, she got a nasty surprise.

Turns out Brandon had a plan that she was now going to support HIM for the rest of her life. He lawyered up and was even able to get temporary alimony and property awarded to him. The LA Court first awarded him $200,000 per month child support and alimony when the case just started as temporary relief. BUT, Kelly is no dummy. She kept fighting for justice and to uphold her Prenuptial Agreement.

šŸ“‘ On August 12, 2021, a judge has fully upheld the ā€œStrongerā€ singerā€™s prenuptial agreement with Blackstock in their highly contentious divorce, TMZ reported Thursday. The agreement reportedly segregated all assets and income derived during her marriage to the former entertainment manager.

Blackstock had been fighting the prenup in order to split their accumulated properties, including the Montana ranch where he now resides, along with the income she earned during their marriage.

Upon receiving an email confirming her victory, Clarkson allegedly let out a scream on the set of ā€œThe Voiceā€ and celebrated.
And celebrate she should!!

ā˜ Kelly Clarkson has primary custody of their children, Remington and River Rose. Blackstock lives in Montana.

The ā€œSince U Been Goneā€ songstress appears desperate to sever all ties with her estranged husband. She also filed to restore her last name.

šŸ’Ŗ She is getting her life and her name back. It’s Kelly Clarkson’s divorce victory story!

If you are about to get married and you are not a Hollywood star, you still should get a Prenuptial Agreement. It’s a MUST!
