Big Divorce news of the day, and this one involves celebrities!

Dr. Dre’s wife Nicole Young is going to have a separate mini-trial to void her Pre-Nup that she signed under duress in her divorce case. In other words, she wants the court of declare her Pre-Nuptial Agreement invalid and not follow its terms when dividing up the couple’s assets and awarding alimony.

Andre Romelle Young, known professionally as Dr. Dre, is an American rapper, record producer, audio engineer, record executive, entrepreneur, and actor. He is the founder and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics, and was previously co-owner of Death Row Records. He is a close friend of rapper Eminem and has been in movies and all over the media with his success.

There are many factors on Nicole’s side that will help her void the Pre-nup here. The fact that much of Dr. Dre’s fortune was earned during the marriage is one factor. The trial about the Pre-nup will also focus on what happened when she signed it (what was the duress). Also, an important factor is the length of the marriage. Many courts will not uphold Pre-Nups after a marriage this long and will say that it’s not fair after so many years and kids when the wife was such a big support system for the high earning husband and helped him make all the money.
